Pride of the Southland Band, 'Feathers and Teeth' comedy-horror play, Lodge Museum among Chattanooga area’s weekend highlights

Get ready to sing along with "Rocky Top" as the Pride of the Southland Band stops in Chattanooga for a pep rally with local football fans Thursday. The concert is among dozens of events around the area this weekend, including performances by an exiled Ukrainian dance company and a Broadway musical that tells the story of the Temptations.

-- Southern Adventist University, 4881 Taylor Circle, Collegedale, will host an opening reception for "A Celebration of Life," featuring paintings by Myung Joo Oh Shin, at 6 p.m. Thursday. Shin pursued her graduate degree at Andrews University in Michigan before returning to her native South Korea. Her work will be on view through Nov. 21 in the John C. -- Kyiv City Ballet, a company of Ukrainian dancers on tour when Russia invaded their homeland, will perform three nights at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. All shows start at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center, 752 Vine St. Wednesday's performance will be a full-length version of "Swan Lake." Chattanooga Ballet will accompany the visiting dancers the final two days, featuring "An Evening of Dance" on Thursday and a mixed repertoire Friday, highlighted by the newly commissioned "Tribute to Peace."
